In New York, Lake Ontario borders the counties of: Jefferson, Oswego, Cayuga, Wayne, Monroe, Orleans, and Niagara.

The lake features an abundance of fish species, including rainbow smelt, lake trout, Chinook salmon, walleye, smallmouth bass, and largemouth bass. Lake Ontario is also known for its trophy-sized brown and lake trout. With so much to offer anglers of all experience levels, it’s no wonder that Lake Ontario has become a popular destination for freshwater fishing.
